Brawijaya University (UB) will become the venue for the Computer Based Writing Examination (CBWE) for the next week. On the first day of CBWE, Tuesday (30/4/2024), security was tightened at a number of points prone to traffic jams.

UB Security Coordinator, Mohammad Najmudin explained that 97 personnel were deployed to secure the implementation of CBWE.

“A total of 97 personnel were divided into several points, the exam location building, and T-junctions which caused congestion. “We have made operational guidelines for the gate opening and closing system for Veteran, Mayjen Panjaitan or Betek street, KPRI and BNI,” said Najmudin.

He added, there are a minimum of two personnel deployed at each point. Meanwhile, for locations prone to traffic jams, such as roundabouts, UB hotel junction, FIA engineering junction, and Samantha Krida, there are three personnel standby.

“We direct drivers who use four wheels and wait inside to the parking center. At each point we deploy a minimum of two personnel, at the roundabout there are three personnel, at the compost gazebo three personnel, in several drop zones, and one to three people at each room depending on the number of participants and the size of the building,” said Najmudin.

Meanwhile, apart from deploying a security team, the CBWE committee also carried out checking using metal detectors to anticipate participant fraud.

“All participants must remove their cellphones, belts, accessories, watches and footwear before entering the room in the waiting room. Before entering the room, the officers checked the participants using a metal detector and were also carried out by the officers. Female officers will touch the bodies of female participants, and male officers will touch the bodies of male participants. Participants who wear the hijab will be checked on the ears to see whether there are hidden devices or not. We will carry out checks from toe to head so that everything is ensured to be safe,” said Executive Coordinator Heri Prawoto, S.Sos., M.A.B.
