First Day of Hybrid Lecture: Health Protocols Tightened

Before Entering the Transit Room, Students are Required to Check their Temperature

Universitas Brawijaya (UB) held a Hybrid lecture (offline and online) for the first time on Monday (7/2/2022). There are five faculties that hold Hybrid lectures on the first day, namely the Faculty of Medicine (FK), Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Faculty of Administrative Sciences (FIA) and Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES).

The Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB) Hamamah, S.Pd., M.Pd., Ph.D said that according to the rector’s rules, the maximum number of students who can take offline lectures is 25 percent of the class capacity or a maximum of 10 students per class.

“We also arrange at FIB that the lectures are a maximum of 50 minutes,” said Hamamah.

Hamamah added, on the first day of Hybrid lectures, FIB applied a swab test requirement for students who would take offline lectures.

“For students who take offline lectures, we require that they have been vaccinated twice, get parental permission, and antigen swab.

Reported swabs can be used to monitor student conditions before entering FCS. And the Swab report really helps us when they come,” said Hamamah.

Meanwhile, at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) there is a transit room for students who are waiting for college hours.

“Before entering the transit room, students are required to check in on Peduli Lindungi application then wash their hands and check the body temperature. After that, sit on the chair that has been provided. Later, when we start studying, we will call one by one to enter the class,” said Vice Dean I of FEB, Ainur Rofiq, S.Kom., SE., MM., Ph.D., CFA.

While at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences (FIA), room is sprayed with disinfectant once lecturing activity is finished.

“There are about 10 people per class but there are also seven and eight students. Since one class can be used for five lecture sessions, we always spray disinfectant after lectures,” said the Dean of FIA, Drs. Andy Fefta Wijaya, MDA., Ph.D.

Responding to this, UB Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nuhfil Hanani AR., M.S., said the Hybrid lecture on the first day went smoothly and was carried out with strict health protocol standards as been implemented in UTBK.

“Hybrid lecture system makes UB not full. Because some are online, some are offline,” said the former Dean of FP. (OKY/ Humas UB/ Trans. Iir).
