Nexgen Consulting Academy successfully held its first onboarding session at E Building FIA, Universitas Brawijaya on Saturday, (11/30/2024). The Nexgen Consulting Academy program is a strategic initiative organized by DiKST UB to help Universitas Brawijaya researchers/inventors overcome challenges and problems in developing innovation.
The participants, which are Project Leaders and Project Analysts, will act as Junior Consultants. They will analyze the business case given and prepare strategic recommendations which will later be presented in PowerPoint. This program is in collaboration with ShARE UB.
ShARE Universitas Brawijaya is a student organization that focuses on developing leadership and business consulting skills through real case projects and collaboration with industry partners. As part of the ShARE global network, we uphold the principle of Do Well and Do Good, bridging academic theory with direct business practices, while creating social impacts on society.
NexGen Consulting Academy, under the auspices of DiKST, is led by Mohammad Iqbal, S.Sos., MIB., DBA, and founded by Brillyanes Sanawiri, SAB., MBA., PhD. This program is managed by Alfito Reyhan Nugroho (Business Administration 2023) as Project Officer, and Hanifah Azkiyatunnisa (Management 2023) as Vice Project Officer.
The first onboarding event was held on November 30, 2024 at E Building FIA, 11th Floor, Raden Wijaya Room which was attended by 129 UB students from various departments, batches, and faculties. This event included a special session from the speakers. Firmansjah Muhammad, a consultant from McKinsey & Company, and Michael Parasian, an Expert Analyst from BCG. The event was also attended by the Rector of Universitas Brawijaya, Prof. Widodo, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D.Med.Sc. along with the ranks of Vice Rectors.
Nexgen Consulting Academy presents as an answer to the gap in work experience for UB students, which reaches more than 60,000 people. Participants will gain direct experience by working on real business cases, while improving their critical thinking, problem solving, strategic management, analysis, and innovation skills in the business consulting world.
This program collaborates with ShARE UB and involves 15 supervisors from multinational companies and 6 speakers and modules from leading companies. The mission of Nexgen Consulting Academy is to empower students with the insights and facilities needed to succeed in the business consulting industry, as well as build professional connections with industry experts.
One of the participants, Ella, a 3rd semester student from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, expressed her impression, “I feel more confident in facing the professional world after hearing directly from very experienced speakers.”
With the mission of building a generation of future leaders, Nexgen Consulting Academy offers great opportunities for students to build professional networks and prepare themselves to face the challenges of the world of work.
