GIRAFFE Award UB 2024 and the Submission of NPWZ Cards From BAZNAS

Symbolic submission of NPWZ Cards by the Head of BAZNAS East Java to UB Chancellor

Coinciding with the 79th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia (HUT RI), Saturday (08/17/2024), Universitas Brawijaya (UB) again held the GIRAFFE Award. The GIRAFFE Award is an award given to faculties based on the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (IKU), RENSTRA, and indicators that support the business processes of institutions, directorates, and units.

In the third year of GIRAFFE Award, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) won first place, followed by the Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP) as second place, and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences as third place. The victory was based on the assessment of Governance (G), Innovation (I), Reputation (R), Alumni (A), Faculty (F), Fund (F) and Efficiency (E).

Chair of the 2024 GIRAFFE Award Dr. Eng. Turniningtyas Ayu Rachmawati, S.T., M.T in her speech said that this activity is a form of appreciation from UB’s leadership for the performance that has been carried out by all parties and those at UB for one year.

“Hopefully this award can be an encouragement for the Deans to be better, to make UB a strong university towards the QS 500 world,” said Turniningtyas.

Meanwhile, UB Chancellor Prof. Widodo, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D.Med.Sc expressed his gratitude for the hard work of all leaders, education staff, and lecturers for their hard work that has been done so that UB’s achievements are extraordinary.

“We hope that the award ceremony is for recognition and motivation, that an achievement, work, achievement will only be obtained if we work hard. And InshaAllah, our hard work will never lie to the results,” said the Rector.

This activity was combined with the presence of the Head of BAZNAS East Java Prof. Dr. KH. Ali Maschan Moesa, Msi and staff who symbolically handed over the Zakat Obligatory Number Card (NPWZ) to UB Rector. The NPWZ Card is an innovation of BAZNAS to facilitate the process of data collection and distribution of zakat throughout Indonesia. Every individual or institution registered as a wakif or muzakki will have a NPWZ Card as proof of their membership in the national zakat system.

“UB is the campus with the largest zakat distribution. Previously it was only around IDR 8 billion to IDR 10 billion in a year, Alhamdulillah this year it reached IDR 45 billion. This zakat is used to help the poor, including providing scholarships to students who have difficulty paying UKT,” said Ali Maschan Moesa.

Present to accompany the Chairman of BAZNAS East Java were Deputy Chairman 2 Drs. KH. Ahsanul Haq, MpdI, Deputy Chairman 3 Dr. KH. Moh. Zaki. Msi, Head of Collection Abd. Kholik, and Collection Staff Muhammad Hilmi.
