GETAS, an Application to Preserve Brantas River

The problem of environmental cleanliness in the country continues to increase due to the population growth every year. This includes the cleanliness of the river. This is due to many things, one of which is the lack of public awareness about nature conservation and the importance of proper waste management and disposal.
To provide a solution for this problem, the team of lecturers serving of the Faculty of Computer Science and the Faculty of Engineering Universitas Brawijaya (FILKOM and FT UB) made the Brantas Geotagging (GETAS) application as an effort to preserve the Brantas river. They are Dr. Eng., Herman Tolle, ST., MT. (team leader), Muhammad Aziz M., ST., MT., PhD., Raden Arief Setyawan, ST., MT., Lutfi Fanani, SKom., MT. and Ratih Kartika Dewi, ST., MKom.
Herman said that GETAS is an application for monitoring the Brantas river based on the social crowdsource mobile technology. With this application, the cleanliness of the Brantas river can be monitored based on public reports sent through the application. The report can then be seen and monitored by the government and other community members.
Herman conveyed that the GETAS application had been socialized to the Batu City government and Batu City Police Resort in the Sabers Extortion, Zero Waste Program on Saturday (3/10/2020). During the event, there were clean-up activities – slametan for water springs, workshop on waste management and smart chat.
However, until now the GETAS application is still in the process of being refined. However, the hope is that after the development of GETAS application it can be launched on the Google Play Store so that it can be used by a wider community. [DNA / Humas UB/ Trans. Iir]
