Universitas Brawijaya’s International Academic Affairs Unit (IO-UB) held a webinar on “Study in France with Various Scholarships” on Friday (2/2). The event was organized in collaboration between IO-UB, the French Embassy, IFI in Surabaya, and Campus France. Acting as a presenter at the webinar, which was attended by around 200 active undergraduate students and UB alumni, was Gema Akbar Pratama, Deputy Attache for University Cooperation.

In his remarks, UB Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Santoso, M.P. said that cooperation with France has been running for a long time and is quite good. Among them is the existence of a joint program between IFI in Surabaya and the French Literature S1 Study Program at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences. According to the Vice Rector, this activity was held in order to increase the number of UB graduates who continue their studies abroad. In addition, he also encouraged active undergraduate students to take the opportunity to study in France through the IISMA and IISMAVO schemes. “One of the performance indicators of universities is the number of graduates who continue their studies in other countries. Therefore, we present the French Embassy to provide opportunities for students and alumni to study there,” he said.
Meanwhile, Education and University Cooperation Attache of the French Embassy to Indonesia Antoine Bricout said that he was very happy to welcome the enthusiasm of Indonesian students to study in his country. According to Antoine, in addition to the many choices of quality universities in France, of course, the atmosphere of the French country with the charm of the Eiffel Tower will be a special attraction. “We are happy if many UB students continue their studies in our country. Regarding the quality of education, there is no need to doubt,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, in his presentation, Gema Akbar Pratama conveyed various scholarship channels to study in France. Among them are domestic scholarships such as LPDP-Priority and scholarships from France, namely France Excellent. Meanwhile, active students can join the Student Exchange through the IISMA and IISMAVO schemes for Vocational students.
