FT-UB Signs MoU with PT Terminal Teluk Lamong

Faculty of Engineering Universitas Brawijaya (FT-UB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the most modern and leading shipping terminal company PT. Terminal Teluk Lamong. The signing of memorandum of understanding which become number one terminal in Asia, and number four worldwide,  held in the Prof. Ir. Suryono Auditorium on Monday (29/Feb/2016).

The signing of the MoU carried out by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Ir Surjono, MTP and President Director of PT. Terminal Teluk Lamong Ir. Prasetyadi, DESS.

On this occasion Prasetyadi stated that his company opens widely opportunities for academicians UB cross departments to have practical work, study, or just visit them.

Prasetyadi, an alumni of the University of Le Havre France, revealed that PT. Terminal Teluk Lamong received many visits from students, officials, up to the ambassador. It is because PT. Terminal Teluk Lamong is one of the leading company in the field of innovation and technology especially port terminals in Indonesia.

“We should be proud that Terminal Teluk Lamong is number four in worldwide and first in Asia to use the automation system. Additionally, all the operational system are done by Indonesian and 80% of the employees recruited from fresh graduates,” he said.

Prasetyadi added, there are so much can be learned from the management of PT. Terminal Teluk Lamong, from its automation systems, industry, information technology, civil engineering, electrical, mechanical engineering, and the environment. Evenmore, this subsidiary of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) is the first green port in Indonesia that minimizes the use of fossil energy.

“I hope that this MoU will be the first step. Of course, we will prioritize UB because we already had the MoU,” he said.

Vice Dean for Academic Affairs FT-UB, Surjono welcomes the cooperation with PT. Terminal Teluk Lamong. He hoped that the cooperation initiated by the Department of Industrial Engineering can bring good relationship between UB and PT. Terminal Teluk Lamong in Tri Dharma College.

“One of the possible forms of cooperation is internship or thesis data retrieval. This opportunity is limited, must compete. So, use this opportunity as well as possible,” he said.
