FTUB Has Determined 4 Prospective Dean Candidates and Their Numbers

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB) held a serial number drawing activity for prospective dean candidates for the 2025–2030 period on Thursday (date adjusted), at the Prof. Ir. Suryono Auditorium. This activity is part of an important stage in the dean election process, which is carried out openly, democratically, and transparently.

The event was officially opened by the Chair of the Committee, Ir. Lalu Tri Wijaya N. Kusuma, ST., MT., Ph.D., who in his speech emphasized the importance of this process in maintaining the integrity and spirit of togetherness of the FTUB academic community.

“The election of the dean is not just a formality, but part of our efforts to build visionary and inclusive leadership for our common good in building FTUB,” he said.

After the opening remarks, the drawing of ballot numbers was carried out directly, attended by all prospective dean candidates, the selection committee, the Faculty Academic Senate, and several lecturers and education staff. The atmosphere was solemn but full of enthusiasm, marking a shared commitment to making the election of a quality dean a success.

The results of the drawing of ballot numbers for prospective FTUB dean candidates for the 2025–2030 period are as follows:

  • Number 1: Prof. Ir. Djarot B. Darmadi, MT., Ph.D.
  • Number 2: Ir. Ishardita Pambudi Tama, ST., MT., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng.
  • Number 3: Prof. Ir. Hadi Suyono, ST., MT., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., APEC Eng.
  • Number 4: Prof. Ir. Moh. Sholichin, MT., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., APEC Eng.

Each candidate delivered a short statement after the drawing, which generally emphasized the spirit of healthy competition and commitment to the progress of FTUB. They also expressed their hope that the entire process would run smoothly and continue to prioritize academic values.

This drawing process is the initial milestone for the next series of stages, such as the delivery of the vision-mission and work program which will be implemented on Monday (21/4/2025). In addition, the BACADEK were given a campaign period from Monday next week, April 21 to May 2, 2025. It is hoped that this activity can be a means of healthy democratic education on campus.

By implementing this drawing of ballot numbers, FTUB shows its commitment to upholding accountable institutional governance. The entire academic community is also encouraged to continue to actively participate in this process until the election of a new dean who will lead FTUB for the next five years.[drn]
