Malang, February 19, 2025 – The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB) enthusiastically welcomed the arrival of the accreditation team from the The Accreditation Agency for Study Programmes in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics (ASIIN) in the context of the international accreditation process for the Department of Regional & City Planning (PWK).
The group of accreditation team/assessors included Prof. Dipl. Ing. Martin Weischer from Münster School of Architecture, Germany (1); Prof. Dipl. Ing. Cornelia Bott from Nürtingen University, Germany (2); Yanna Sumkötter, M.A from ASIIN Project Manager for Civil Engineering, Germany (3); Dewi Afiliyani from Urban Planner Intern PT Jababeka (4); and Dr. Phil. H. Andy Simarmata, S.T, M.Si. from Urban Planner Research, Consultancy, and Advocacy in The Field of Sustainable Urban Development (5).
The presence of the ASIIN team is an important step for the Department of PWK FT UB in an effort to improve academic standards and gain wider international recognition. With this accreditation, it is hoped that the quality of education, curriculum, and learning system at PWK FT UB will be increasingly recognized at the global level, opening up greater opportunities for students and alumni to play a role in the international world.
During the accreditation process on the first day, the ASIIN team will carry out a series of activities including visiting the FT UB Dean’s building and touring the FT UB PWK building, then an assessment will be carried out in the afternoon.
The team from FT UB has prepared all aspects carefully to ensure that the educational standards applied are in accordance with the international criteria set by ASIIN.
We welcome the ASIIN team and hope that this accreditation process can run smoothly and produce the best achievements for the Department of PWK and the Faculty of Engineering UB as a whole. Hopefully this accreditation will be an important milestone in increasing the competitiveness and quality of education at FT UB to a higher level. [drn]
