FT UB Sharing Happiness with Orphans in Safari Ramadhan 1446 H

This year, the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB) again held an activity to provide assistance to orphans as part of Safari Ramadhan 1446 H. This activity took place at the Al Hadiid Mosque on Monday (10/3/2025) and was attended by the leadership of FT UB, academics, and orphans from the Aisyiyah Malang orphanage and orphans fostered by the Lazis NU Lowokwaru foundation. This event aims to strengthen friendship and foster a spirit of social concern in the holy month of Ramadhan.

The event was officially opened by the Dean of FT UB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadi Suyono, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., APEC Eng. who in his speech conveyed the importance of sharing happiness with others, especially with orphans. He hopes that activities like this can become an annual agenda that continues to grow and involves more parties to share sustenance and happiness.

“In addition to carrying out the main worship in the holy month of Ramadan, it would be better if we also share happiness with others. Especially to children in need where the purpose of this sharing is also to gain the pleasure of Allah SWT,” he explained.

In addition to the Dean of FT UB, the Head of Takmir Al Hadiid Mosque, Prof. Ir. Ludfi ​​Djakfar, MSCE., Ph.D., IPM. also gave a speech. On that occasion, he emphasized that the mosque is not only a place of worship, but also a center for social and religious activities that can provide broad benefits to the community. He invited the entire academic community to continue to support social activities on campus.

The atmosphere became even warmer when the orphans were given the opportunity to interact with the FT UB academic community. As well as giving gifts to the children to provide happiness and enthusiasm in pursuing education. Laughter and joy radiated from their faces throughout the event.

The event continued with a Ramadan sermon delivered by Ustaz Dr. M. Faisol Fatawi M.Ag. In his lecture, he invited all attendees to use this holy month as a momentum to increase faith, piety, and concern for others, especially those who are less fortunate.

This activity received high appreciation from various parties, including the orphanage caregivers and foundation administrators who were also present. They expressed their gratitude for the attention and assistance given by FT UB to their foster children. They also hope that events like this can continue to be held and involve more orphans in the coming years.

With the holding of this event, it is hoped that the spirit of social concern and togetherness can continue to grow in the FT UB environment. In addition to providing benefits for orphans, this activity is also a moment of reflection for the entire FT UB academic community to further strengthen humanitarian values ​​in everyday life.[drn]
