Taking place in Bumitama Room, 5th Floor GB FP UB, the Faculty of Agriculture signed an MOA with the Education and Culture Office and the Environmental Service of Malang City in the School Empowerment Program to Support the Adiwiyata Program Towards Sustainable Green Schools.
The signing was carried out by the Dean of FP UB, Prof. Mangku Purnomo, S.P., M.Si, Ph.D. with the Head of the Education and Culture Office of Malang City Suwarjana, S.E, M.M., and the Head of the Environmental Service of Malang City, Noer Rahman Wijaya, S.T., M.M. who were also present to witness the Vice Dean I Dr. Afifuddin Latif Adiredjo, S.P., M.Sc. and Head of the Socio-Economic Department Dr. Fitria Dina Riana, S.P., M.P. and representatives of Elementary Schools and Junior High Schools who participated in the program activities.
In his speech, the Head of Malang City Education and Culture Office, Suwarjana, S.E, M.M., hoped that this activity would not be limited to just MOA and would continue, because it is very good for environmental education from an early age.
“However, we from the office, especially schools, may not be able to focus on environmental science, but with this program and the presence of students in schools, we can help us a lot to increase knowledge and carry out environmental-based education activities.”
Not much different, Noer Rahman Wijaya, S.T., M.M. The Head of the Malang City Environmental Office welcomed this activity, through the collaboration, FP UB will continue to assist the Adiwiyataan activities that focus on schools in Malang City.
Prof. Mangku Purnomo, S.P., M.Si, Ph.D. Dean of FP UB will fully support this activity, he even advised every school if there is a need for organic fertilizer for school needs to provide it for free, not only fertilizer he is also ready to help provide plant seeds if needed.
The signing was not only carried out by the P&K Service and DLH, but also carried out with 18 schools included in this program, this program is part of a series of Student-Based Community Empowerment Programs (PMM), which targets elementary and junior high schools in Malang City in an effort to develop and mentor schools to become Adiwiyata schools.
