Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Brawijaya (FP UB) collaborated with Syngenta to hold a seminar entitled “Impacting Society, Empowering Others”, which was held at Brawijaya Auditorium, Tuesday (12/11/2024).
Syngenta is a well-known multinational company engaged in agriculture and contributes to increasing global food security. Syngenta Indonesia is headquartered in Jakarta, overseeing the commercial area throughout Indonesia, with a business focus on plant seeds, plant protection, and grass and planting.
Reisa, one of the committee members from the students, said that the event held by FP was attended by 601 participants from UB students.
“In general, this is a seminar activity besides to introduce Syngenta, there is also a walk-in interview and on-the-job training which is carried out at the end of the activity. This activity is one of the recruitment programs for friends who are still looking for job information,” he said.
Syngenta Goes to Campus Universitas Brawijaya presents several speakers from Syngenta who also happen to be alumni of Universitas Brawijaya who hold strategic positions in the company.
Syngenta Director, Cristian Bayu Putra, who is known to be FP graduate, told Prasetya that there have been many alumni who have become leaders at Syngenta, which is a multinational company that is currently in the top five global companies in the agricultural sector.
“This is part of a program from the company that collaborates with the campus, we have an obligation to provide inspiration to students who are about to graduate, who have graduated, or who are still studying as students, so that they have a vision for the future to be able to work in the world of agriculture, it is a picture of various professions available there, there are large companies that can accommodate them after graduating later, “said Bayu Putra.
Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Afifuddin Latif Adiredjo, S.P., M.Sc., strongly supports this activity. He said this is also part of the collaboration and can be a development of information for fellow alumni and for fresh graduate students who are looking for work.
“This activity is a synergy between companies as industry players and campuses as providers of experts, so that the industry get benefits from quality graduates and it is hoped that the campus will also get benefit where all students produced are able to be absorbed by the industry. Hopefully this event can be useful and fellow students can get easier opportunities to be able to have a career in the future either at Syngenta or elsewhere,” said Dr. Afif. (KAN/UB UB PR/ Trans.
