Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Universitas Brawijaya (FKH UB) held the 4th Veterinary Festival (VetFest) on Thursday (12/8 -14/8/2021). This activity aims at introducing FKH UB and RSHP UB to the public, so that they can know more about veterinary profession.
The VetFest activity which is packaged with a Talkshow concept and carries the theme “Joint Synergy to Create Animal Welfare” is expected to make the public more concerned about the health of their pets and understand the dangers of various cases of diseases that can attack their pets.
In the Talkshow concept, the participants who attend will be in a virtual room and then watch the interactive talk between the speakers and the moderator so that the event becomes more active.
Questions will not only come from the moderator, but participants will also have many opportunities to ask the speakers which will certainly open up new insights for the participants presented.
This year, VetFest invites FKH UB lecturers as well as practitioners in RSHP UB as well as representatives from the community such as drh. Dyah Ayu Oktavianie A.P., M. Biotech (Dean of FKH) who brought the topic of FKH UB Contribution in improving animal welfare and health); dr. Dodik Prasetyo, M. Vet (Vice Director of Medical Services RSHP UB) who brought the topic Getting to know RSHP UB more closely); and Yoba Wiryas Farhana (Chairman of Malang Reptile Addict Community) as speaker from the exotic animal community who also shared his experiences.
“Hopefully there will be more sharing activities in the future with this kind of community so that a joint synergy between veterinarians and the community is not impossible, as the veterinarian’s motto is, Manusya Mriga Satwa Sewaka which means Creating Human Welfare through Animal Health,” said the Executive Chairman of the Activity, drh. Shelly Kusumarini R., M.Si.
The total participants who registered for this activity reached 1000 people, and were supported by a number of media partners such as Vetnesia, Vet Indonesia, Veterinary Seminar Info, SK Vet, Veterinarian 86, Drb. the Vet Show, Radio Kencana FM, Reptile Addict Malang, and Candy Pet House., and BNI banking institutions.
