The Doctoral Service (DM) Team of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Brawijaya (FKH-UB) provided education related to one of the Strategic Infectious Animal Diseases (PHMS), Septicaemia Epizootica (SE) in Tegowangi Village, Plemahan District, Kediri Regency, Monday (08/07/2024).
The DM KKN Team was guided by lecturer drh. Gretania Residiwati, M.Si. Ph.D, consisting of five undergraduate students of Veterinary Medicine Education, FKH, namely Astita Faizzerlina Islami, Kadek Karma W, Dimas Rafi H, Ilham Arta W, and Farahdina Ika N.
Gretania said that this activity was part of a series of the UB Doctoral Service (DM) program 2024. Education was provided to the residents of Tegowangi because the majority of its residents are livestock farmers, and as an effort to increase the immune system in livestock in overcoming SE disease.
After the socialization, the DM team also distributed herbal medicine for livestock from noni fruit extract, papaya leaves, and turmeric.
This herbal medicine for livestock was produced by the team and distributed to Tegowangi Village livestock farmers for free, with the hope that the livestock cattle will be more immune to disease attacks, especially SE, because the content of this noni fruit extract contains several nutrients that can increase the immune system.
With this DM program, it is hoped that the people of Tegowangi Village, especially the farmers, can learn about strategic infectious animal diseases in their livestock. So that if their animals are sick, they know what actions to take. [Astita/Irene/ UB PR/ Trans. Iir]
