Faculty of Dentistry Universitas Brawijaya (FKG-UB) together with Unilever held a Fun Education Webinar with the theme ” Online Fun Education for Dental and Oral Health in the Era of Adaptation to the New Habits of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Elementary School Students in Malang City”, Wednesday (02/12/2020 ).

The Head of BKGN FKG UB, drg. Zefry Zainal Sp.BM said that this activity was held in commemoration of the National Dental Health Month and coinciding with the 58th Anniversary of Universitas Brawijaya. FKG UB collaborates with Unilever which has collaborated with FKG throughout Indonesia.

“On the 2nd and 3rd we held online educational activities. Usually we hold activities offline by inviting the public to come to Universitas Brawijaya Hospital (RS UB), but due to the pandemic period it does not allow for mass mobilization, so we do it online. And it happens to coincide with UB’s 58th Anniversary, “explained Zefry.

This webinar was attended by 500 participants from FKG UB school target community, such as PJ Global School, SD Ungglan Al Ya’lu, SD Islam Moh Hatta, SDN Tunjungsekar 2, SDN Tulusrejo, SDN Landungsari 1, and MI NU Pagelaran. This activity, which is aimed at providing positive education in order to maintain oral and dental health, is not only for students but also for teachers and parents.

Drg. Zefry hopes that through FKG UB contribution by holding online education, the community will keep their teeth and mouth healthy even in the midst of a pandemic.

“Even though there are limitations, we, FKG-UB still carry out our responsibility in providing health education to the public,” he said.

Besides providing online education, FKG UB together with Unilever also distributed Mini E-books and educational videos about general health and dental health. FKG UB also provides Pepsodent toothpaste and toothbrush as well as School Health Unit (UKS) equipment in the form of compassion for each participant and the target community of elementary schools that take part in the webinar.
