Universitas Brawijaya (UB) has officially opened the Master of Psychological Science Program. The Master Program under the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) has started accepting new students for the 2024/2025 Academic Year.
Head of the Psychology Department, Ali Mashuri, S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D said that the decision aims to broaden and deepen understanding of the field of Psychology, as well as meet the need for quality academics in Indonesia according to the mandate of Law No. 23 of 2022 concerning Psychology Education and Services.
The Master of Psychological Science offers a comprehensive curriculum, including Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Clinical and Health Psychology, Social Psychology, Educational and Developmental Psychology, and Psychological Measurement/Psychometrics.
“With a focus on in-depth scientific understanding, this program is designed to prepare students to face various careers in the public and private sectors, as well as to continue doctoral studies in Psychology,” explained Ali Mashuri.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Psychology Study Program, Dr. Sumi Lestari, S.Psi., M.Si said that the Master of Science in Psychology Program is a form of UB’s commitment in providing high-quality education that is relevant to the needs of the times and stakeholders.
In this first admission, UB Psychology Department accepts prospective students who are Bachelor of Psychology graduates and Non-Psychology Bachelor graduates. However, for students who are Bachelor of Non-Psychology graduates, they are required to take part in the Matriculation program which is carried out before the lectures begin.
“This Matriculation activity is carried out to equalize basic knowledge about psychology for all lecture participants,” explained Sumi Lestari.
Admissions for prospective new students of the Master of Psychology Science will open online on June 3, 2024, and will end on July 12, 2024. Prospective new students who meet the academic and administrative requirements will take a selection test on July 15-26, 2024. And the selection results will be announced on August 5, 2024.
