FISIP and School of Psychology University of Adelaide Carry Out Research Collaboration on Building Inclusive Workplace

The Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) has completed an international research collaboration with the University of Adelaide, Australia, in order to develop the concept of an “Inclusive Workplace”.

This research activity took place in Adelaide, Australia, for four days (14/10-18/10/2024). This activity was carried out within the framework of the 2024 Lecturer Work (Dokar) Grant. The academics involved from both institutions were Dr. Ika Rahma Susilawati, Dr. Ika Widyarini, Dr. Ridwan Aji Budi Prasetyo, Selly Dian Widyasari, M.Psi from Universitas Brawijaya. Meanwhile, from the University of Adelaide were Prof. Dr. Deborah Turnbull and Dr. Diana Dorstyn.

The main objective of this research is to create an inclusive work model that allows for active participation from individuals with various backgrounds and abilities.

The research results are expected to provide significant contributions in the development of company policies and work environments that support diversity and inclusion.

“We are very enthusiastic about the initial results of this collaboration. We hope that this research can have a real impact, both in Indonesia and Australia, in creating a more inclusive and supportive work environment for all groups,” said Dr. Ika Rahma Susilawati.

This research will continue with scientific publications and dissemination of results at international conferences in 2025 as well as practical applications in various organizations and companies interested in implementing this inclusive workplace model.

This activity ended with the signing of the Implementation of Agreement (IA) between the two parties which includes several activities such as joint publications, study tours, and guest lecturers. (FISIP PR/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
