FISIP Universitas Brawijaya together with the Alumni Association of Universitas Brawijaya carried out a procession for handing over donations to Sultan Rif’at Alfatih, a Government Science Student at FISIP UB who had an accident as a result of being entangled in a fiber optic cable in Jakarta early 2023, Saturday (2/9/2023).
The donation which was previously initiated by BEM FISIP UB and the General Chairperson of IKA UB was then handed over directly to Sultan who was also witnessed by Fatih, as Sultan’s biological father. The handover of this donation was also attended by the Secretary General of IKA UB together with the Head of IKA UB Jakarta Branch.
“We feel that Sultan and his family are still part of FISIP UB big family, and our presence would be a form of our concern and empathy for the misfortune that was experienced by Sultan and his family,” explained the Dean of FISIP Universitas Brawijaya, Anang Sujoko S.Sos., M. .Si., D.COMM, Tuesday (5/9/2023).
Besides donations, Anang Sujoko also explained that FISIP Universitas Brawijaya also provided legal support, in the form of advocacy assistance through lawyers from IKA UB for the future.
“Our presence is also to strengthen, including then through what legal steps will be in the future, which we will follow up by coordinating with lawyers from IKA UB,” said Anang on the same occasion.
Previously, during the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students 2023, a mass donation was made which was attended by 1244 new students. As a result, the donation resulted up to IDR 19,000,000. (FISIP PR/ OKY/ UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
