FILKOM UB with Seclab.id Hold Sharing Session and Campus Hiring

The Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya (FILKOM UB) on Wednesday, (8/28/2024), held a Sharing Session between FILKOM UB and Seclab.id at the Algoritma Auditorium, G building, 2nd floor. This event was attended by the head, secretary of the department, head of the study program, FILKOM UB students and representatives from Seclab.id. The activity was opened by the dean of FILKOM UB, Prof. Ir. Wayan Firdaus Mahmudy, S.Si., M.T., Ph.D. In his remarks, Prof. Wayan welcomed the collaboration between FILKOM UB and Seclab.id, to provide insight and inspiration for students interested in a career in cybersecurity field.

“This event provides new insight for FILKOM UB students, that cybersecurity job opportunities are increasingly needed. “With this activity, we should immediately prepare ourselves to be able to weigh the competencies needed to enter the world of cybersecurity work later,” he said.

Seclab.id was founded in 2018 as a cybersecurity research, education, and consulting service company in Indonesia. Seclab.id is committed to helping secure company or institutional information assets strategically with comprehensive and cutting-edge cybersecurity testing methodologies and techniques.

The activity continued with the signing of a collaboration between FILKOM UB and Seclab.id, a cooperation on Collaboration of Research, Academic and Industrial Programs. This signing confirms the commitment of both parties to support the development of talent in the field of cybersecurity. The event, hosted by Dewi Wijayanti, S.T., presented two main speakers from Seclab.id, Ahmad Dany Mirza (Penetration Tester) and Adhiyaksa (Penetration Tester), moderated by Nur Hazbiy Shaffan, S.T., M.T.

The Sharing Session between FILKOM UB and Seclab.id is expected to become the first step for students to start a promising career in the cybersecurity industry, while strengthening collaboration between academics and practitioners in facing digital security challenges in the future.
