The 2024 National Student Exhibition in Information and Communication Technology (GEMASTIK) is the 17th event after previously being held in 2022 and 2023 at Universitas Brawijaya. GEMASTIK activity was held at Semarang State University (UNNES) this year, for five days (22/9–26/9/2024). GEMASTIK XVII took the theme “ICT for Improving Public Services Towards a Prosperous Indonesian Society” as a contribution given to the wider community. GEMASTIK is an event that plays a big role in producing Indonesian digital talents.
At GEMASTIK XVII, the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya (FILKOM UB) sent 13 (thirteen) student teams that successfully qualified as finalists. At the GEMASTIK XVII Awarding Ceremony held at the Prof. Wuryanto Auditorium, UNNES, the general winner was Universitas Indonesia with 4 gold, 4 silver, 1 bronze and 2 runner-ups. FILKOM UB, which was in 7th position, won 1 silver, 2 bronze and 1 runner-up. In the Silver Medal of User Experience Design (UX Design) category. Bronze Medal, ICT Business Development category, Bronze Medal, Cyber Security category, and runner-up of Game Application Development category.
The work that won the silver medal was, GluCare: Integrated Type 2 Diabetes Management Application Non-invasive Wearable Glucose Monitor to Support Chronic Disease Management Programs.
Group: BCC The Explorer Nabila Nafilia Dyanti (Information Systems), Bernadeta Regina Kusumawardhani (Information Systems), Noory Azyza (Information Systems), with supervisor Ir. Retno Indah Rokhmawati, S.Pd., M.Pd.
The first bronze medal was won by the Apa Team, with the title of the work DisaBisa: AI-Based Inclusive Platform with Direct Training and Job Placement for Five Categories of People with Disabilities, consisting of Barik Mauluda Wildani (Information Systems), Putu Candra Eliantari (Information Technology) and Sherina Yosephine Angelica (Computer Engineering), with supervisor Ir. Admaja Dwi Herlambang, S.Pd., M.Pd.
The second bronze medal was won by the AcRtf group, consisting of Noverdi Anugrah Ramadhan (Information Engineering), Qolandar Annuri (Information Engineering) and Adhiyaksa Ramadhana Purwidyantoro (Information Engineering), with supervisor Nur Hazbiy Shaffan, S.T., M.T.
For the aspiring winner with the work entitled, SEGEL was won by the 2EZ4RAION group, consisting of: Aldino Titteo Rikardo (Information Technology Education), Rivaldo Sidiq Pradana (Information Technology Education), Hamdalla Agil Putra Nasol (Information Technology Education), with supervisor Ir. Adam Hendra Brata, S.Kom., M.T., M.Sc.
Dr. Said Mirza Pahlevi, M.Eng., as the Head of the Application Research and Development Center, Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo), in his closing speech said that efforts to empower Indonesia’s digital ecosystem involve various aspects, including the development of digital infrastructure, cross-sector collaboration, innovation, and awards. All of this aims to create a strong, sustainable digital ecosystem that supports the growth of the digital economy in Indonesia.
“GEMASTIK aimed at improving the competence of Indonesian students in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This program is designed to test students’ abilities in facing current and future technological challenges,” Said concluded in his speech. (rr/rsm/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
