The Faculty of Computer Science (FILKOM) UB held a guest lecture on Capstone Project (CP) on Wednesday (2/19/2025), at the Algorithm Auditorium, Building G, 2nd Floor, FILKOM UB. The event was opened by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FILKOM UB, Dr.Eng Ir. Herman Tolle, S.T., M.T. On this occasion, Dr. Herman said that CP is a project-based course that must be taken by students in semester 6 and also refers to the direction of the Informatics and Computer Higher Education Association (APTIKOM) that the Undergraduate curriculum must have a CP model.

“CP is how students utilize what they have learned from previous courses, or courses that are concurrent in the current semester with CP. Students can utilize the knowledge, skills, and abilities they have gained from previous courses to build a project. The solution approach to the problem is in accordance with their respective themes, how they can work and collaborate to come up with a solution idea. For this year, the CP theme at FILKOM is IT Entrepreneurship,” explained Dr. Herman.

This guest lecture presented Andy Febrico Bintoro as the main speaker. Andy currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Maxy Academy. In addition to being the founder and CTO of Maxy Academy, Andy also plays an important role in developing programs that combine Artificial Intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology to improve the digital skills of students and job seekers in Indonesia. On this occasion, Andy explained that students must have a passion and hobby to initiate a project.

“In the early stages, we can determine what we are most interested in in the field of technology, whether machine learning, web development, or cybersecurity. Next, we can do research to find topics that are relevant to our interests and later have the potential for real applications,” said Andy.

Andy also added that adapting to AI technology is not just an option, but an urgent need today. (rr/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
