The implementation of Independent Campus policy by the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia (Mendikbud RI) opens wider opportunities for students to learn. Not only studying at the study program or university where they are registered, now students can enjoy the experience of studying in other study programs and even universities. In order to create an Independent Campus Curriculum that is able to meet the needs of students, the Faculty of Computer Science Universitas Brawijaya (FILKOM UB) collaborates with universities, both domestic and abroad.
One of them, on Tuesday (18/8/2020) the Information Technology Education (PTI) Study Program of FILKOM UB received a visit from the PTI Study Program of State University of Malang (PTI UM study program) with an agenda of exploring cooperation in implementing the Independent Campus Curriculum. The meeting was held in F building, 7th floor of FILKOM by implementing the health protocol. Three UM representatives who attended were Aji Prasetya Wibawa, S.T., M.M.T., Ph.D. (Head of Department and Coordinator of Electrical Engineering Master Program), Heru Wahyu Herwanto S.T., M.Kom (Head of the ICT Center ISDM Division) and Dr. Yuni Rahmawati, S.T., M.T. (Coordinator for S1-PTI and S1-PTE Study Programs). Meanwhile, the representatives from FILKOM UB were Wayan Firdaus Mahmudy, S.Si., M.T., Ph.D. (Dean), Herman Tolle, Dr. Eng., S.T., M.T. (Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs), Issa Arwani, S.Kom., M.Sc. (Head of Information Systems Department / Chair of JSI) and Satrio Agung Wicaksono, S.Kom., M.Kom. (JSI Secretary).
The meeting discussed the form and mechanism of cooperation to be implemented. In addition, it also discusses what courses these cross-university students can take. Delivered by Issa that currently, PTI FILKOM UB Study Program requires pedagogy courses. Meanwhile, from the PTI UM Study Program, said Dr. Yuni requires courses in the field of information systems.
“Hopefully this collaboration can be realized soon. For an easier process, it is better not to involve finances. For example, with student exchange only. The number of students who are exchanged is the same and the weight of the courses or credits taken is also the same. Furthermore, an explanation of the cross-program scheme can be made and a Cooperation Agreement (SPK) is also made for the detailed mechanism, “said Herman Tolle. [dna/ Humas UB/ Trans. Iir]
