
The Faculty of Computer Science (FILKOM) held an Even Semester 2024/2025 Teaching Plenary to evaluate learning programs or academic activities in the previous semester at the Algorithm Auditorium, Faculty of Computer Science, on Wednesday (2/5/2025).
The activity was opened by the Dean of FILKOM, Prof. Ir. Wayan Firdaus Mahmudy, S.Si., M.T., Ph.D.
The Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Drs. Muh. Arif Rahman, M.Kom., in this plenary conveyed the need for support and motivation from lecturers as well as for their students so that they have the spirit to excel in the fields of reasoning, interests, talents, and arts. So that it will automatically create a climate and culture of achievement for FILKOM UB students
“Lecturers can and need to provide assistance in terms of research and reasoning to develop a climate and culture of achievement. In 2025, the achievements of FILKOM students are expected to exceed those in 2024,” said Drs. Arif.
Vice Dean for General Affairs, Finance and Resources, Ir. Agus Wahyu Widodo, S.T., M.Cs., on this occasion conveyed employee discipline. The standard for lecturer attendance in the lecture process is 12 meetings, also including the Mid-Semester Exam (UTS) and Final Semester Exam (UAS).
“The presence of lecturers in learning determines the achievement of student competencies, in addition to the methods or strategies used by lecturers to teach in a course. In order to fulfill this standard, please for lecturers to be discipline to comply with the regulations that have been set,” explained Ir. Agus.
Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Eng. Ir. Herman Tolle, S.T., M.T., delivered a report on the use of BRONE Learning Management System (LMS) in courses at FILKOM UB showing a good percentage.
From the 4,536 respondents, 58.1% stated that courses at FILKOM use the BRONE LMS for all lecture activities, including materials and tests.
“Hopefully, the percentage of LMS usage can increase again, because UB already has the facilities to facilitate teaching. An effective BRONE LMS can be determined by the quality of the system, courses, and services that have an impact on student satisfaction,” explained Dr. Herman.
Dahnial Syauqy, S.T., M.T., M.Sc., as the coordinator of the 2024/2025 even semester course scheduling and also the head of the Center for Information Systems and Public Relations (PSIK), in this plenary session provided an explanation related to course scheduling. The arrangement of the lecture schedule is intended to accommodate the common good for the academic community at FILKOM UB.
“The course sessions for 2 credits and 3 credits will be scheduled to be structured. The advantage is that the gap between sessions will be the same for all except the last session. The even semester lecture schedule is intended to provide a gap, as well as rest for lecturers, so as not to interfere with rest and worship time,” explained Dahnial. (rr/ds/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
