Faculty of Law Universitas Brawijaya (FH UB) held an online Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PK2MABA) for two Saturdays (21/8,-22/8/2021). Then followed by KRIDA Student activities for 4 days.
The event was opened by singing the anthem Indonesia Raya guided by Justicia Choir as a Semi-Autonomous Institute (LSO) which is engaged in voice art activities.
The Chairperson of 2021 UB FH PK2MABA Committee, Bahrul Ulum Annafi S.H, M.H. said that the implementation of PK2MABA FH UB today was attended by 530 new students.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya, Dr. Muchamad Ali safa’at S.H., M.H., said that college student means getting a new title as a learner.
“This is the best time for all of you to seek the truth and has the nature of freedom. You have the freedom to seek the truth from anywhere, and you are all required to be more independent and responsible for the path of truth that you believe in,” said Ali Safa’at.
The speech was continued by the Head of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of FH UB, Muhammad Al Ghiffary who explained a little about the theme of PK2MABA this year, namely intelligère.
Ghiffary hopes that with this theme, the PK2MABA event can produce students who have the ability and intelligence who always prioritize values and can provide benefits to those around them.
Rafly Rahyan Al Khajri as Chairman of the Student Representative Council (DPM) of FH UB added a few words of motivation for new students in carrying out their college life.
Rafly advised new students of FH UB to not only pay attention to grades in class, but always explore new things and think critically on issues that involve the wider community.
“The title ‘maha’ that you hold today does not measure the greatness of perfect scores, but also your contribution to the public.”
The event continued with prayer. After the prayer is finished and the delivery of the material is continued.
There are several core materials, one of them was delivered by Dr. Setiawan Nurdayasakti S.H, M.H as Vice Dean III for Student Affairs who provides campus life guidance for new students.
In his speech, he said that FH UB has a place for new students to develop their talents.
It can be seen that FH UB already has various Autonomous Institutions (LO) and Semi-Autonomous Institutions (LSO) which are engaged in their respective fields to accommodate the interests and talents of students.
“If you want to develop English, you can go to Alsa, if you like anything related to the press, you can go to Manifest,” he said.
He hopes that new students of FH UB batch of 2021 will not only deal with grades but can also become people who will develop later.
