FH Develops Journal Management Skills for Lecturers and Staff

The Journal Management Board (BPJ) of the Faculty of Law, Brawijaya University (FH UB) held a workshop for lecturers and educational staff managing journals in the faculty to provide additional skills in checking and managing journals efficiently.

In remarks delivered by Milda Istiqomah, S.H., MTCP, Ph.D., as the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, this workshop focused on developing the skills of faculty admins in scientific journals.

“The faculty admin has a very important role in ensuring that the journal checking process runs smoothly. This workshop was held to provide the techniques needed to assess journal quality more effectively,” said Milda.

This workshop activity which took place at the Golden Tulip Holland Resort Batu for two days (24/11-25/11/2023) provided knowledge to lecturers and educational staff as faculty admins in checking the validity of journal publication results which have different provisions in terms of journal publication every year.

“Faculty journal managers are at the forefront in ensuring the integrity of scientific journals. By understanding the basic principles of checking the validity of student scientific journals, which always change every year, we hope to be able to play a key role in improving the quality of scientific publications at UB Faculty of Law,” said Milda.

In addition, this workshop also provides space for lecturers and education staff to share the specific challenges they face in the journal review process. So that participants can identify practical strategies to overcome these problems and can create a more efficient and effective work rhythm.

Lecturers and educational staff at the Faculty of Law, Brawijaya University, are expected to be able to implement positive changes in journal management at UB Faculty of Law. With the new knowledge and skills acquired, it is hoped that the faculty can be more efficient in handling the publishing process, improve the quality of journals, and make a greater contribution to the scientific world.
