
Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya (FH UB) held a post-election interactive dialogue with the theme “PHPU Completed, Malang City KPU Names 45 Elected Candidates for DPRD Members” in the 6th Floor Auditorium, A Building FH (30/5/2024) – . This event was held in collaboration with RRI Malang and presented three expert presenters in their fields.
This event was attended by Izzudin Fuad Fathony from the Legal and Supervision Division of Malang City KPU, Achmad Faried, ST., Chair of Malang City PSI DPD, and Ria Casmi Arrsa, SH., MH., as a State Administration Lecturer and Chair of the Center for Regional Autonomy Development (POTODA) FH. This discussion was attended by a large number of students, academics and the general public who were enthusiastic about following post-election developments in Malang City.
Izzudin Fuad Fathony opened the discussion by explaining the process of determining elected candidates for members of Malang City DPRD.
“After going through a long process and resolving the General Election Results Dispute (PHPU), the Malang City KPU has determined 45 selected candidates who will occupy seats in Malang City DPRD. This determination is based on the results of the vote recapitulation which have been verified and ratified,” said Izzudin.
Achmad Faried, ST., Chairman of the Malang City PSI DPD, highlighted the importance of transparency and accountability in the election process.
“A transparent and accountable election process is key to maintaining public trust in democracy. We at PSI really support the KPU’s efforts to ensure that every stage of the election runs in accordance with these principles,” stressed Faried.
Ria Casmi Arrsa, SH., MH., provided an academic perspective on the impact of election results on regional autonomy.
“This election is a reflection of community political participation which is very important for the development of regional autonomy. The success of this election shows that the people of Malang City are becoming more mature in politics and more aware of their rights in determining the direction of regional government,” explained Ria.
It is hoped that this event will provide a deeper understanding of the post-election process and the determination of members of the Malang City DPRD, as well as encourage active community participation in the democratic process in the future. (RMA/FHUB PR/OKY/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
