The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Brawijaya (FEB UB) held an Education Orientation (ORDIK) activity for 1,286 new students to introduce campus life to these new students starting with an opening ceremony filled with a series of speeches from various important figures in the faculty.
The Chief Executive of ORDIK, Muhammad Abdin Arif welcomed all new students who had chosen FEB as a place to pursue higher education. He also expressed his gratitude for the trust given to FEB to help them achieve their dreams and aspirations in the world of college.
In his remarks, the Head of BEM FEB Reskiawan Latamara hoped that the 2024 Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) activity could become a “kawah candradimuka” for new students. He hopes that through this process, new students will be forged into academics, creators, and devotees in line with the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Student Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hendi Subandi, SE., MA., Ak., CA., IIAP., gave an important message to new students to always be ready to transform into pioneers who are adaptive to change. He also emphasized the importance of becoming individuals with a global reputation, who uphold ethics, culture, and responsibility, both individually and collectively. In addition, he hopes that students can become controllers of the direction of the nation’s future.
The Dean of FEB UB, Mr. Abdul Ghofar, SE., MSi, MAcc., DBA., Ak., CA., also conveyed his welcome to the new students. In his remarks, he explained the various achievements that have been achieved by FEB UB and introduced the ranks of faculty leaders, including vice deans, department heads, department secretaries, study program heads, and sub-section heads in each field and department.
The event continued with the pinning of ID Cards by the Dean of FEB UB to three outstanding new students as a symbol of the opening of ORDIK and ORMAWA activities. They are Nayla Herman Ramadhani, gold medalist in the 2023 International Business Plan Competition; Helmi Bagus Suryawan, 2nd place winner of the 2023 State Budget Olympiad; and Althaf Dainrifqi Adiwidya, representative of FEB UB disabled students who won 1st place in the 2023 Atlantis Aquatik Festival.
This ORDIK activity is expected to provide strong initial provisions for new FEB UB students in facing challenges in the world of lectures and become a solid foundation in their academic journey at Universitas Brawijaya [sha, 2024/ UB PR/ Trans. Iir].
