FEB Departs 1010 Students of Thematic Real Work Lecture

Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Brawijaya (FEB UB) departs 1010 students to take part in Community Service activities, Monday (11/7/2022). This activity aims to shape the character and competence of students.

The Dean of FEB, Abdul Ghofar, SE., M.Si., DBA., Ak said that the task of students is not only to study but the most important thing is to provide benefits to others.

“Therefore, it is necessary for this Community Service to be held and for the class of 2020 it is a compulsory subject,” he said.

Abdul Ghofar added, as many as 1010 students who participated in the community service consisted of 66 students participating in the Thematic real work lecture coordinated by LPM, 853 students participating collectively under the coordination of the faculty, and 92 students participating in the community service Homecoming program or returning home.

“So, there are three community service schemes that FEB students are participating in this time,” he said.

 

In implementing the program, FEB collaborates with nine districts and 84 villages and sub-districts in Indonesia, including Tangerang, Malang Batu, Ponorogo, and Jombang.

The former VD 1 of FEB said that the main form of community service activity is village development.

“For example, the form is village development for digitizing the bureaucracy. For the development of digital villages, we contain of FILKOM,” he said.

In addition to develop digitalized villages, students also develop MSMEs, develop identification of resilient villages for disasters, and develop village education.

To students who are conducting community service activities, UB Rector, Prof. Widodo, S.Si.,M.Si.,Ph.D.Med.Sc advised that they can respect each other and maintain the good name of UB’s alma mater.

“During community service activities, you must be able to adapt to the community in a different way by maintaining self-respect. A person’s self-esteem depends on the tongue. Speak and discuss must be in polite language.

A person’s self-esteem depends on his behavior and the way he dresses. Please later, you can adapt to the traditions and cultural characteristics of the people in the village,” said Prof. Widodo. (OKY/Humas UB/ Trans. Iir).
