The FISIP-FIB Berbakti Desa (FBD UB) 2024 Group has closed and had farewell its activities through the Cultural Festival work program: Kala Jatra Mahotsava in Purwodadi Village, Malang Regency, East Java.
After successfully completing two other work programs, Ruang Bertumbuh and Teachers at SD Purwodadi 2 and SD Purwodadi 4, Group 56 FBD UB carried out this last work program in collaboration with SD Purwodadi 2 and Karang Taruna Mandiri of Purworejo Kidul Hamlet, Purwodadi Village.
This event was held in the field of Purwodadi 2 Elementary School. Although held in a school environment, the event was open to the public.
This activity was attended by the Village Secretary, Kholin; Head of the Regional Supervisory Agency, Rudi Purwanto; Head of Purworejo Kidul Hamlet, Joko Sasetyono; Head of Purwodadi 2 Elementary School and Purwodadi 4 Elementary School, Hamidah Nurul Hayati; Field Supervisor, Prof. Dr. Ali Maksum, M.Ag., M.Si; Head of RT and RW of Purworejo Kidul Hamlet and Sidorejo Hamlet, and residents of Purwodadi Village.
The activity began with a speech delivered by the Head of KKN Group 56 FISIP-FIB UB. Then, it was continued with a speech by the Principal of Purwodadi 2 Elementary School, Head of Purworejo Kidul Hamlet, and Secretary of Purwodadi Village. The speech was closed with the beating of the gong by Mr. Kholin as the Village Secretary as a symbol to start of the Cultural Festival event.
The first performance was opened with the chanting of sholawat performed by the Al-Banjari extracurricular of Purwodadi 2 Elementary School. Next, there was a performance of campursari art by Vania, as a student of Purwodadi 4 Elementary School. After that, it was continued with a dance performance from three dance groups performed by students of Purwodadi 2 Elementary School and Purwodadi 4 Elementary School.
In addition to collaborating with the Purwodadi 2 and Purwodadi 4 Elementary School extracurriculars, group 56 also collaborated with Sanggar Gita Rama in presenting this regional dance. Finally, the peak of the event was closed with a jaranan performance from the local community of Purwodadi Village, Paguyuban Panji Asmoro.
Narji, the head of Panji Asmoro Jaranan Art Association and Andi as the administrator of Karang Taruna of Purworejo Kidul Hamlet expressed their gratitude to FBD UB students because by promoting jaranan art through the Cultural Festival, they created enthusiasm to reactivate jaranan art.
“This jaranan has been inactive for a long time, but because it appeared at the cultural festival, I we wanted to reactivate the jaranan that had been inactive for a long time,” said Andi.
“The plan is that after KKN, this jaranan will be inaugurated. So, the jaranan’s appearance at the cultural festival is the opening before it is officially inaugurated,” continued Narji.
The Cultural Festival event was successfully held smoothly and lively with the support of the local community. It is hoped that this activity will have a positive impact on the village community in preserving local culture. [UB PR/ Trans. Iir]
