The Faculty of Animal Husbandry (Fapet) extends the internship period to six months or one semester. The purpose of extending this internship is that students can absorb more knowledge from industry and apply theories from college.
“This apprenticeship program also supports the independent learning system for independent campus learning which was proclaimed by the government. That is by exploring student competencies so that when they graduated, they are ready to use for industry and do entrepreneurship, “said the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Prof. Dr. Sc. Agr. Ir. Suyadi., MS., IPU., ASEAN Eng when opening an internship orientation in the field of entrepreneurship, Laying Chicken Industry, Feed Mill, and Cultivation at Closed House, Monday (8/02/2021).
The activity which took place online was a follow-up to the collaboration with PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia (CPI) in terms of holding certified internships. Because PT. CPI has contributed directly to practical activities, namely the grant of closed house modern layer of layer hens and a learning supermarket called Entrepreneur Teching Center (ETC) for Fapet UB.
Certified apprenticeship is an internship activity for one semester which is equivalent to taking 20 credits. So that the assessment of these activities will be inputted into certain courses.
“The apprenticeship implementation count per SKS is 40 hours, which means students have to take 8-9 hours of work for 5-6 days.” Prof. explained. Suyadi
“Before going to the field, all participants are required to take an antigen swab test.” he continued
Apprentices were selected through interview and administration selection, as many as 20 entrepreneurial apprentices and 40 interns in the industry of laying hens, feed mill, and closed house cultivation.
Entrepreneurship apprenticeship starts February 8, 2021 to July 30, 2021, with an agenda of virtual orientation activities for a week and then internships at 10 prime freshmart branches each with two shift participants for three weeks. Then idea generation with supervisors, making a business canvas model and the last evaluation.
Meanwhile, the apprenticeship for laying hens, feed mill and cultivation in closed houses will be held next week, February 15, 2021 to July 2021, using a combination of offline and online methods of implementation. (dta / Humas UB/ Trans. Iir)
