The Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) team from the Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (UB), together with the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Rizki Prafitri, Ph.D., officially dispatched 74 students participating in the MBKM Program for the Even Semester of 2024/2025. The ceremony took place at the Faculty of Animal Science UB, attended by supervising lecturers as well as representatives from companies and partners hosting the MBKM activities.
During the same event, it was also announced that 15 students will participate in the MBKM program abroad in Hokkaido, Japan. These students will undertake a program focused on enhancing competencies, gaining international experience, and expanding networks in the field of animal husbandry.
“We hope that through this MBKM program, students can make a tangible contribution to the companies or institutions where they are placed,” said Rizki Prafitri, Ph.D. He also emphasized the importance of MBKM as a means for broadening students’ knowledge. “We hope they can further upgrade their competencies while bringing a good name to the Faculty of Animal Science UB. Congratulations as well to the 15 students who will take part in the MBKM program overseas,” he added.
The MBKM program at the Faculty of Animal Science UB encompasses various activities, ranging from industrial internships and applied research to entrepreneurial projects. Student participation in the MBKM program is expected to optimize practice-based learning, preparing graduates to better address future challenges and meet the needs of the animal husbandry industry. mtn
