Malang, October 28, 2024 – The Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) successfully conducted the 3in1 program in collaboration with a foreign lecturer from National Chiayi University (NCYU), Taiwan. This program featured Prof. Wen Der Wang from the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology, NCYU, as the guest lecturer for the Reproductive Technology course. The initiative aimed to enrich students’ knowledge by providing additional materials from both practitioners and international lecturers.
Earlier, the 3in1 program had also invited practitioner Mrs. Deasy Zamanti, S.Pt., M.Si., Head of the Embryo Center, in September 2024. This initiative is designed to provide students with a comprehensive learning experience by integrating both academic and practical perspectives.
The guest lecture, held on October 29-30, 2024, at the 8th Floor Auditorium of Fapet UB, was attended by undergraduate (S1), master’s (S2), and doctoral (S3) students enrolled in the Reproductive Technology course. The event was also attended by Fapet UB’s Reproductive Science lecturers, including Prof. Sri Wahjuningsih as the Chair of the 3in1 Reproductive Technology Program, Prof. Suyadi, Prof. Trinil Susilawati, Prof. Nurul Isnaini, Dr. Achadiah Rahmawati, Dr. Aulia Puspita Anugra Yekti, and Ani Atul Arif, M.Si.
Prof. Wen Der Wang delivered a lecture on gene cloning technology and its application in animal reproduction. He also took the opportunity to introduce National Chiayi University, specifically the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology, and highlighted several scholarship opportunities available for pursuing master’s and doctoral studies at NCYU.
In addition to the guest lecture, a strategic discussion was held between Fapet UB leadership and NCYU representatives to explore collaboration opportunities in research, double degree programs, short courses, and joint publications. The discussion was attended by Fapet UB Vice Dean 1, Ir. Rizki Prafitri, Ph.D., Head of the Department of Animal Science Dr. Irida, and a representative from the International Relations Office (IRO), Mrs. Poppy Satya Puspita, M.Si.
“It is hoped that this program will enhance students’ competence, broaden their insights, and motivate them to actively participate in the learning process, as well as provide opportunities for further studies in Taiwan, particularly at NCYU,” stated Ir. Rizki Prafitri, Ph.D.
This 3in1 program is expected to be a starting point for strengthening academic and research collaborations between the Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya, and National Chiayi University in the future. mtn
