
Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB), represented by Prof. Dr.Sc.Agr. Ir. Suyadi, MS., IPU., ASEAN Eng (Dean) signed an online cooperation agreement with PT. Buana Karya Bhakti, Banjarmasin, Monday (9/11/2020).
The agreement with the company which engaged in the plantation and palm oil producer regarding the implementation of practical activities, field work practices (PKL), internships, and certified internship for students.
According to Prof. Suyadi, practice is an activity carried out by students to acquire practical skills related to the implementation of courses with a semester credit unit weight, as well as additional activities assigned by the lecturer. The form of activity is in the form of visits or daily tasks.
In contrast to the Field Work Practices (PKL- Praktik Kerja Lapangan) which is a form of structured student final assignments in improving graduate managerial competence in the form of practical activities to complete semester credit units. The implementation is 30-35 working days, but can be extended up to three months as needed.
Meanwhile the HRD & GA Manager, Alwin Berkat explained the difference between an internship and a certified internship. According to him, internship is an activity to gain experience and skills in certain fields, which have nothing to do with the curriculum structure. It is implemented for a maximum period of one month.
Meanwhile, certified internships are carried out by students at an institution, institution or company to gain practical competence in certain fields with a maximum weight of 20 credits and a maximum time of six months.
This collaboration is one of the implementations of an independent learning campus. That is, students have the opportunity for one semester (20 credits) to study outside the study program at the same university. And a maximum of two semesters or 40 credits of studying in the same study program at different universities, different study programs at different universities; and / or learning outside of higher education.
