UB Faculty of Engineering Warmly Welcomes Visit of Group from Universiti Malaya

Faculty of Engineering Universitas Brawijaya (UB) warmly welcomed the arrival of a group from the Faculty of Engineering Universiti Malaya today, Tuesday (2/18/2025). The group consisting of 20 students and 1 lecturer was present in person to exchange information regarding the profiles of each institution, both in terms of academics and student organizations.

This visit is part of an effort to increase international cooperation and exchange of knowledge between the two institutions. In the meeting, UB and Universiti Malaya shared information regarding study programs, academic activities, and various student organization initiatives that have been running in each faculty.

The visit, which is part of an effort to increase cooperation between institutions, was officially welcomed by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Student Entrepreneurship, Dr.Eng. Ir. Herry Santosa, S.T., M.T., IPM. and the Head of IRO FT UB, Dadang Meru Utomo, S.T., M.U.R.P., Ph.D. In his speech, the Vice Dean 3 FT UB expressed his pride and good hopes for a closer relationship between the two faculties.

“This visit is an important momentum to exchange information and experiences from each student to get to know each other better, both about the education system and student activities at Universiti Malaya,” said Herry.

In addition to FTUB. the group from Universiti Malaya plans to spend three days in Malang City with the agenda of getting to know more about the local culture and small industries that are characteristic of this city. During the visit, students will be invited to visit several historical sites, local craft centers, and small factories that are sources of innovation and empowerment of the local community.

“We are very enthusiastic about this visit because it can open insights and increase collaboration between the two universities, especially in introducing culture and education on both sides,” said Dr. Mohd Izzudin Izzat Bin Zainal Abidin, as Senior Lecturer Representative of Universiti Malaya.

The exchange of information and experiences that took place today is expected to be the foundation for closer cooperation in the future between UB and Universiti Malaya, while also providing an opportunity for students to gain new perspectives that can support their academic and professional development.

This visit event is an important momentum in strengthening relations between higher education institutions, which not only focus on improving academic quality, but also support the introduction of local culture and potential through direct interaction in the field.[drn]
