Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Brawijaya University as Forensic Expert Team for the Dau Sector Police, in the Cat Murder Case in Malang Regency

Dr. drh. Albiruni Haryo, M.Sc, AP.Vet, one of the lecturers at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Brawijaya University who has expertise in animal forensics, was recently appointed as an Expert Team by the Dau Sector Police of Malang Regency in an effort to uncover cases of violence and animal killings that occurred in the Malang Regency area. This case came to the surface and became widespread public attention after reports from the public that an animal had been found dead and mysteriously nailed to a tree.

As a veterinary expert with extensive educational background and experience, Dr. Albiruni plays a crucial role in collecting and analyzing forensic evidence as a form of effort to uncover cases. By collecting evidence and carrying out basic analysis related to data in the field, it is hoped that it will be able to help the process of disclosing the case legally. The threat of 9 months’ imprisonment, under Article 302 of the Criminal Code, is a serious threat to the perpetrators of this violent act.

Dr. Commitment Albiruni and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine’s concern for animal welfare and its efforts to uncover the truth is a focus that continues to be maintained in the profession. Through his contribution, it is hoped that perpetrators of violence against animals can be brought to justice and provide justice for the animal victims. It is also hoped that this effort can increase public awareness about the importance of protecting animals and prevent similar incidents in the future.
