The Directorate of Student Affairs at Brawijaya University (UB) carries out activities at UB Widyaloka Building. The activity held was the provision and distribution of savings books to students who received the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) Kuliah Merdeka in 2023.
On the same occasion, an Entrepreneurial Student Program (PMW) expo was also held around the Widyaloka building. This series of activities was carried out over two days, Wednesday and Thursday (22-23/11).
In his speech, the Head of the Sub-Directorate of Student Welfare and Entrepreneurship, Ilhamudin S, Psi MA, said that the number of prospective applicants for KIP Kuliah Merdeka at UB was 2138 students. In the last two years, UB has tried to propose and increase the quota for KIP Kuliah recipients.
This year, the number of KIP Kuliah Merdeka scholarship recipients at UB is 774 students. Various incoming data and reports are the basis for determining who is worthy of this scholarship. The student affairs directorate team has tried as hard as possible so that this scholarship is targeted to students in need.
UB strives to provide maximum facilities and services to all students, especially disadvantaged students. Scholarship recipient students are expected to actively participate in both academic and non-academic activities. Various organizations and programs have been provided by UB to develop student abilities.
“One of the problems, the limitations regarding educational financing for students who receive KIP Kuliah, has been resolved with this scholarship. There is a moral burden for students to be able to take and complete their studies well. “After graduating, we hope to be able to have a good impact on the wider community,” said Ilhamudin.
