Four Prospective Dean Candidates for FTUB for the 2025-2030 Period Present Vision, Mission, and Work Program

Faculty of Engineering, Brawijaya University (FTUB) held an activity to present the vision, mission, and work programs of four prospective Dean Candidates for the 2025–2030 period. This event was held on Monday (21/4/2025), at the Prof. Ir. Suryono Auditorium and was attended by the Faculty Academic Senate (SAF), BACADEK Recruitment Committee, lecturers and education staff,

The four prospective candidates who appeared in this presentation were Prof. Ir. Djarot B. Darmadi, MT., Ph.D.(1); Ir. Ishardita Pambudi Tama, ST., MT., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng.(2); Prof. Ir. Hadi Suyono, ST., MT., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., APEC Eng.(3) and Prof. Ir. Moh. Sholichin, MT., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., APEC Eng.(4)

The activity was opened by a speech from the Chairperson of the Faculty Senate (SAF), Prof. Dr. Ir. As’ad Munawir, MT. In his speech, he said that this activity aims to provide a transparent and democratic space so that the entire campus community can directly assess the prospective leaders of FTUB with the vision, mission and work programs aimed at building a better FTUB in the future.

“With this activity, it will be easier for fellow lecturers and education staff to get to know the programs that will be implemented by each prospective Dean Candidate so that they can have a view and picture for a better FUB in the future,” explained Prof. As’ad.

The presentation began with a presentation from BACADEK number 1, namely Prof. Ir. Djarot B. Darmadi who emphasized the importance of strengthening applied research and industrial innovation. He conveyed his commitment to encouraging strategic collaboration with national and international industry partners. According to him, with real collaboration between universities and industry, the campus will be better in terms of cooperation, research development, and career development for students.

Furthermore, BACADEK number 2, Ir. Ishardita carries a more inclusive approach with a focus on human resource development, improving the welfare of lecturers and education staff, and creating a healthy academic climate. He also highlighted the importance of good and transparent financial budget management, complete facilities and infrastructure, and the use of digital technology in faculty management.

The third candidate, Prof. Ir. Hadi Suyono, offers a program based on internationalization and future-oriented development. He said that with this internationalization, benchmarking is needed in all academic and managerial aspects in FTUB. In addition, this benchmarking will encourage and increase various innovations from lecturers, students and education staff.

Finally, BACADEK number 4, Prof. Ir. Moh. Sholichin highlighted the importance of sustainability and social responsibility in his development vision. He emphasized the sustainable development of FTUB both in terms of infrastructure and competency and career development for human resources. As well as strengthening reputation at the national and global levels.

The activity took place in an orderly and interactive manner. After the presentation, a question and answer session was opened from participants who showed high enthusiasm for various strategic issues raised by the candidates. The selection process will continue with the recruitment and election by the faculty senate in the near future.[drn]
