Tirtoyudo Village, which is famous as one of the coffee producing areas, produces large amounts of coffee skin waste every year. If this waste is not managed properly, it can cause environmental pollution that has a negative impact on the surrounding ecosystem. To address this problem, through the Paragon Paradesa program, a group of lecturers in collaboration with the village government and local communities developed a coffee skin waste processing program. This program makes the coffee skin ecoenzyme that has been produced can be used as several household cleaning products, for example Ecoclean Detergent, Ecoclean Body Wash, and Ecoclean Dishwashing Soap.
This initiative not only helps reduce the negative impact of coffee waste on the environment but also provides economic and social benefits for the people of Tirtoyudo Village. Thus, this program is a real example of sustainable waste management efforts.
The Ecoclean program implemented in Tirtoyudo Village, Malang Regency, has succeeded in providing new insights for the community on how waste can be turned into high-value products. In training and mentoring, residents are taught how to utilize coffee skin waste to produce ecoenzymes, which can then be processed into household cleaning products such as liquid soap, dishwashing soap, and detergent.
This program is part of a community empowerment initiative involving the Karang Werda and Purna Buruh Migran communities in the village. With these new skills, the community is expected to not only be able to manage waste effectively but also be able to create new business opportunities that have the potential to increase their income.
The Tirtoyudo Village community responded to this program with high enthusiasm. Many residents see the great potential of Ecoclean products, not only for their own needs but also as a business opportunity. Support from Universitas Brawijaya and PT Paragon Technology and Innovation in the form of training and mentoring is also expected to help the community develop this business to be bigger and more sustainable.
This Ecoclean program not only focuses on improving the economy, but also carries a strong environmental mission. By reducing organic waste that has the potential to pollute the environment, Tirtoyudo Village is expected to be a model for other villages in terms of sustainable waste management.
Through this program, Tirtoyudo Village not only gains economic benefits but also contributes to environmental preservation. In the future, the community is optimistic that Ecoclean products can become a local pride that is able to compete in a wider market. (dse/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
