In order to support the Vision of the Golden Indonesia 2045, FISIP-FIB Berbakti Desa (FBD UB) Group 52 held a work program for the distribution of additional food (PMT) & stunting socialization with the theme “Preventing Stunting is Important”.
This program is a concrete form of UB students’ concern for critical health problems, especially stunting which is currently rampant. With the increasing number of stunting in Indonesia, this program aimed at increasing the understanding and awareness of the Banjarejo Village community regarding the importance of preventing growth disorders in toddlers.
Through the distribution of informative brochures and booklets that were created, the students provided comprehensive information about stunting starting from the causes, impacts to effective preventive measures.
During the activity, the local village mothers were very enthusiastic during the socialization given by Insan Genre BKKBN Malang Regency, Farhan Mahally.
“The program is very helpful and educates residents about the importance of preventing stunting, as a result, mothers and toddlers can better understand the administrative assistance for measuring children’s height and weight as a whole,” said Sinta as the Banjarejo Village Midwife.
Supiyati, Head of the PKK Team, said that the activities of the 52 FBD UB group greatly educated her villagers about the importance of preventing stunting for the sustainability future of Banjarejo Village.
She also hopes that her villagers will implement the knowledge of stunting prevention socialized by the 52 FBD UB Group so that children in Banjarejo Village grow into a healthy young generation and are ready to become the young generation to continue village development.
With this socialization, it is hoped that the Banjarejo Village community can pay more attention to their children’s nutritional intake and maintain a healthy and clean environment. With the knowledge shared, students play a role in ensuring that the next generation grows strong, smart, and free from the threat of stunting. (*/OKY/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
