Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya (FILKOM UB) received good news and should be proud. The good news is that two Study Programs namely Informatics Engineering (TIF) and Information Technology (IT) have received Excellent accreditation from the Informatics & Computer Independent Accreditation Institute (LAM INFOKOM). FILKOM itself should be proud because all of its Study Programs have been accredited excellent.
It should be noted in advance that the IT Study Program has carried out field assessments for two days, on Friday (10/3/2023) and Saturday (11/3/2023) with the team of assessors Dr. Prihandoko, S.Kom, MIT (Gunadarma University Jakarta) and Dr. Wiharto, S.T., M.Kom (Eleven March University, Surakarta). While the TIF Study Program carried out field assessments on March 16 and 17 2023 with a team of assessors Dr. Ir. Petrus Mursanto, M.Sc from the University of Indonesia (UI) with Prof. Dr. Kusrini, M.Kom from AMIKOM University, Yogyakarta.
The achievement of this accreditation is quite a proud achievement for FILKOM UB. This is because FILKOM strives to become a campus with excellent computer science in Indonesia with the achievement of providing quality education with excellent standards. Previously, six Study Programs at FILKOM had also received AQAS International accreditation (Agentur für Qualitätssicherung Durch Akcreditierung von Studiengängen) which was received in February 2023. Of course the accreditation that FILKOM UB gets both nationally and internationally will increasingly provide its own challenges for FILKOM to be better and more advanced than before.
Dean of FILKOM, Prof. Ir. Wayan Firdaus Mahmudy, S.Si., MT., Ph.D. also appreciates all UB FILKOM Academics who have contributed to FILKOM’s progress in obtaining national and international accreditation.
“By accrediting all Study Programs at FILKOM, it means that the quality of education and curriculum has met both national and international standards and has qualifications equivalent to leading universities in Indonesia and even the world in the field of Computer Science,” he explained.
LAM INFOKOM itself is an independent institution formed and initiated by the Association for Higher Education in Informatics and Computers (APTIKOM), Association for Information Systems Indonesia (AISINDO), Indonesian Computer Electronics and Instrumentation Support Society (INDOCEISS) and is tasked with managing and evaluating the accreditation submission process of Informatics and Computer Science fields study program.
