Two days in a row, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Universitas Brawijaya (FISIP UB) received visits from two state campuses.
Tuesday (7/12/2021) a visit was made by the Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences, Trunojoyo University, Madura. Then Wednesday (12/8/2021), FISIP Universitas Padjadjaran did the same thing.
These two visits were carried out, one of which was to gain knowledge to FISIP UB related to the implementation of Independent Learning, Independent Campus (MBKM) Program. FISIP UB also provides knowledge related to the implementation of MBKM so far.
The Dean of FISIP UB, Dr Sholih Muadi SH., M.Si explained that MBKM is a new program so that the team formed at the faculty level is tasked with rearranging the procedures that have been determined.
“Actually, we have been carrying out similar activities for a long time, such as PKM or KKN. But it must be recognized that the number is 20 credits so that students can gain other knowledge, either across faculties or universities,” he said, Thursday (9/12/2021).
The existence of the MBKM program makes FISIP UB form a good system for the benefit of this program.
“We made procedures and governance to build SOTK MBKM from registration to recognition up to a total of 20 credits. Maybe for them to visit here because UB is considered capable of running MBKM well, “explained Sholih.
So why was FISIP chosen? The man who is also a lecturer in the Department of Political Science UB assesses that FISIP has young workers who can spur them to think, formulate a problem related to MBKM.
“FISIP is also still 17 to 18 years old but has been able to carry out the activities (MBKM),” continued Sholih.
Another factor, FISIP in UB is the faculty with the biggest interest. Meanwhile, UB itself has also biggest interest in Indonesia.
“So maybe that’s what makes it interesting. We also have three study programs that are considered excellent with an average registrant of 2000 people per study program, whereas only 130 were accepted,” said Sholih.
With several visits from other campuses, Sholih Muadi is sure that in the future UB including FISIP, will develop more rapidly, especially now that UB is included in PTNBH.
“Unpad itself said it was extraordinary. I am sure UB will develop rapidly since the implementation of PTNBH which will certainly support the MBKM program,” he concluded. (Humas FISIP/ Humas UB/ Trans. Iir)
