The Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRPM) held a Focus Group Discussion on the Direction of Village Food Security and Independence Research to formulate a roadmap for research and community service, Tuesday (11/26/2024)
Vice Rector for Research and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Unti Ludigdo, SE., M.Sc., Ak said that food security and independence are issues that must be responded to by Universitas Brawijaya in a more comprehensive manner. According to him, the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRPM) must develop research and innovation related to food security and independence. The fulfillment of which is not only in the agricultural sector, but also in the fisheries and livestock sectors.
This activity presented seven speakers, namely Prof. Dr. Ir. Nuhfil Hanani AR., MS., with the material “Review of national food policy, future challenges and directions for food security and independence research at UB”. Prof. Ir. Arifin Noor Sugiharto, MSc., PhD who conveyed the experience of research activities, and construction of superior corn and downstream practices of science and technology for superior corn cultivation for Village Independence. Prof. Ir. Didik Suprayogo, MSc., PhD with the material “Land and water conservation for food security and independence”.
In addition to presenting speakers who spoke from the agricultural sector, other speakers who were also present were Prof. Dr.Sc.Agr. Ir. Suyadi, MS., IPU., ASEAN Eng., with the material “Strategy towards livestock independence”, and in the legal field with speakers Prof. Dr. Moh. Fadli, SH., M.Hum., with the presentation title “Review of policies, regulations and implementation of agricultural land protection, and directions for food security and independence research at UB”.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Santoso, MP., was also present as a speaker with material on “Agricultural engineering and food security: Research recommendations and PkM at UB”, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Pudji Purwanti, MP., with material “Review of the national fisheries sector, food security and future challenges and directions for research on food security and independence at UB”.
