Dr. Al Habib Abu Bakr Al ‘Adny Bin Ali Al-Masyhur, founder of 82 educational institutions in the Middle East and writer of 150 books visited Rector of University of Brawijaya, Prof. Dr. Ir. M. Bisri, MS. The visit organized on Monday (25/Jan/2015) at Rector’s room.
The visit organized as friendly visit between Al Habib Abu Bakr Al ‘Adny Bin Ali Al-Masyhur with UB. Also attended the meeting such as Vice Rector I of Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kusmartono, Vice Rector IV of Partnership Affairs, Dr. Ir. Moch. Sasmito Djati, MS and Vice Dean III of Student Affairs Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Akh. Muwafik Saleh, S.Sos., M.Si.
In the visit, the Rector explained about UB, such as in related with student numbers, foreign student numbers, land area and entry requirements for foreign students. Through his interpreter, Al Habib Abu Bakr Al ‘Adny Bin Ali Al-Masyhur asked the possibility regards to student admissions for citizens of Yemen in Indonesia, particularly at UB. “There are around 6,000 students in Yemen who could not pursue their study because of conflicts there,” he explained.
In response thereto, the Rector explained that there are some possibilities to have partnership regards to student admission for citizens of Yemen at UB. “The beginning of the cooperation could be started with signing MoU between Yemen Embassy in Indonesia and Yemen. Recently, UB indeed carrying out development towards the Middle East, such as Sudan and Algerian,” he said. [Vicky/Humas UB/trans. Denok]
