
Lecturers and students of Animal Products Technology (APT) interest Faculty of Animal Husbandry Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) carry out the Lecturer Works (Dokar) program through assistance in developing shredded business in Sisir Village, Batu City, Wednesday (15/9/2021).
The lecturer team is chaired by Prof. Dr. Ir. Djalal Rosyidi, MS., IPU., ASEAN Eng, consisting of Dr. Ir. Mustakim, MP., HDI, Dr. Agus Susilo S.Pt., MP., IPM., ASEAN Eng, Dr. Ir. Aris Sri Widati, MS, Dr. Ir. Eny Sri Widyastuti, MP, Dr. Herly Evanuarini, S.Pt., MP, Dr. Dedes Amertaningtyas, S.Pt., M.P, and Mulia Winirsya Apriliyani, S.Pt., MP.
Meanwhile, the group of student consisted of Elma Putri Primandasari, Sofia Aulia Hidayat, Mahappy Yusvidar Miftah, I Putu Angga Mayobhayu Sumertha, Saskia Amalia Puspita Dewi, and Dhiya Ulhaq.
The activity was carried out at Graha Wangsa, Sisir Village, Batu City and was attended by the Head of Sisir Batu Village, namely M. Viata Aria Pranaka, S.STP. And his wife as the Chair of PKK in Sisir Village, Rera Purmatasari, S.IP, M.AP.
The training participants are 40 people who were shredded entrepreneurs of small and medium scale industry named “TM Mandiri”. The series of activities including surveys, coordination, problem identification, assistance in the production or making of shredded chicken and beef to the packaging process.

According to one of Dokar team, Dr. Dedes, there are several main problems facing by partners. There are the management of the production process and packaging branding has not been maximized, product labeling does not fill up the standard, lack of understanding of quality assurance and food safety, and constraints on product marketing and promotion.
“Therefore, for now, we (the dokar team) focus on assisting the shredded meat production process to packaging. Furthermore, we will provide assistance in marketing techniques and quality control, but the implementation will be done online,” said Dedes.
Dokar is a part of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in accordance with UB Vision and Mission, such as carrying out the role of universities as agents of renewal, pioneers and disseminators of science, technology, arts and humanities as well as agents of national economic development based on the value of local wisdom and sublime.
The program aims to realize Key Performance Indicators (IKU) related to the involvement of lecturers and students to work outside the campus through industrial internships and have a spirit of independence, innovation, competition and solutions for the community.
