UB DM Team Holds FGD for the Development of Trail Adventure Tourism Destinations in Podokoyo Village

The Doctoral Service (DM) Team of Universitas Brawijaya (UB) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in Podokoyo Village in Tosari District, Pasuruan Regency, Tuesday (09/07/2024).

The program led by UB lecturers, Dr. Edriana Pangestuti SE., M.Sc., DBA and Pramadika Ramanda, M.AB aims to help local communities plan and develop trail adventure tourism destinations.

This event is part of the “Planning and Development of Trail Adventure Tourism Destinations in Podokoyo Village” program which arose from the desire of the village community to open a new tourist destination.

“They need assistance from UB lecturer team to plan the tourist destination properly and in accordance with legality,” explained Edriana.

This program is realized in several stages, starting with FGD and assistance related to the legality of the trail land. The team also conducted a review of the land that will be used as a trail tourist destination.

Future plans include three stages of assistance. First, FGD and assistance on the legality of the trail land. Second, the FGD stage and assistance related to physical planning of the destination and management planning. Third, the operational stage of the tourist destination.

This activity was attended by the Village Head, Village POKMAS, BUMDES, and Podokoyo Village community. This program received a positive response from Podokoyo Village Community.

“This program will be continued with gradual assistance and activity evaluation. Potential problems in other areas will also be considered to be managed in the future. With this activity, it is hoped that Podokoyo Village can develop into an attractive trail adventure tourist destination, provide benefits to the local community, and increase the tourism potential of the area,” concluded Dr. Edriana.
