The Center for Transnational Crime and Terrorism Studies, Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya (PIJAR FH UB) held a Doctoral Service Workshop with the theme “Guidance for Independence for Terrorist Convicts as an Effort for Deradicalization Program” on August 10, 2024, which took place in A Building, 6th floor – Courtroom 1, Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya.
This activity was attended by 27 participants consisting of employees and clients (former convicts) of Malang City Correctional Center, 11 student committees who helped organize the activity and presented 2 speakers, namely Dr. Setiawan Noerdajasakti, S.H., M.H. as Vice Rector III of Universitas Brawijaya and Dr.Ir. Agus Tjahjono, MS. As a Lecturer at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya
Milda Istiqomah, S.H., MTCP., Ph.D. as the head of Pijar FH UB said in her speech that the implementation of this workshop is a form of support for clients and also for employees of the Malang City Correctional Center as a form of devotion and empowerment to the community.
“We carry out this activity with the aim of providing direct impact and contribution in conducting entrepreneurship to the participants and also as a step in implementing knowledge from academics to the community,’ said Milda.
Furthermore, the activity was continued with the provision of material by Dr.Ir. Agus Tjahjono, MS. who explained the concept and also the technicalities in carrying out simple catfish farming.
“We have compiled the concept and technicalities in carrying out catfish farming in a simple way, so that it can be implemented by each participant in the activity,” said Agus.
“The potential for catfish in the Indonesian community is currently very large, technical steps are needed in carrying out catfish farming which are accompanied by tips and tricks in order to provide maximum results,” he added.
After the series of socialization of catfish farming materials was completed by Dr. Ir. Agus Tjahjono, MS., the activity continued with practical activities from the previous material delivery which was carried out in the parking hall of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya, in the practice of catfish farming it was depicted with three large buckets that had been prepared as an illustration of the implementation of catfish farming and also carried out with direct discussion activities between Dr. Ir. Agus Tjahjono, MS. and also the participants of the activity.
By implementing the program on catfish farming workshops, it can provide learning, benefits and become an effort to deradicalize clients by providing an introduction to the world of entrepreneurship in the field of catfish farming which can be an additional livelihood for the participants of the activity later.
