Directorate General of Higher Education Ministry of Education and Culture, Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc., DIC., Ph.D Plt. convey that college graduates do not have to worry about being jobless or not having a job if they can become entrepreneurs. According to him, with entrepreneurship, students can become creative people without losing their bachelor’s degree. This was conveyed virtually at the opening of KMI Expo XII 2021 at Samantha Krida Building, Wednesday (11/17/2021).
“Creativity really needs to be given in universities to students both at the international and national levels. Students can prepare themselves to be creative human beings without losing their bachelor’s degree,” said Prof. Nizam.
Prof. Nizam hopes that KMI Expo this time can be an event to strengthen the entrepreneurial spirit of students, such as in the field of startup.
In line with Prof. Nizam, UB Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Nuhfil Hanani, AR., M.S., added that entrepreneurship is a solution for students to create their own jobs. In UB itself, there is Student Innovation and Incubator Agency (BIIW) which assists student entrepreneurs to the marketing process.
To support the entrepreneurship, UB Rector also opens great opportunities to collaborate with other universities in the field of entrepreneurship or other fields.
“There is nothing great and nothing inferior. A great international standard is a university that collaborates a lot with other universities. UB is open to cooperate in any field. If we share knowledge, it can become hundreds or thousands of knowledge,” he said.
Prof. Nuhfil hopes that through the collaboration, the innovations created by students can be commercialized immediately.
The opening of KMI Expo XII 2021 was also attended by the Director of Belmawa, Prof. Dr. Aris Junaidi, National Forum for Leader Communication of Student Affairs (Forkommawa), and Industry Service of East Java Province. (OKY/Humas UB/ Trans. Iir).
