Professor Yasushi Yagi, Director of the Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research, Osaka University visited Brawijaya University on 23 – 25 October 2023. The visit was in order to fulfill three important agendas. First, exploring collaborative research in the field of Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence (AI) with experts in Robotics, Life Sciences and Social Sciences from Brawijaya University. Second, exploring research collaboration with lecturers at the Faculty of Computer Science, Brawijaya University (FILKOM UB). Third, become one of the teachers in the 3 in 1 Visiting Professor and Professional Program in the Computer Science Applications course at the Faculty of Computer Science, Brawijaya University (FILKOM UB).
Collaboration exploration activities with UB experts will be held on October 24 2023 at. 08.00 WIB in the meeting room on the 8th floor of UB Rectorate. The event was attended by the University Secretary Dr. Tri Wahyu Nugroho, SP., MP., Chief Executive of the 3 in 1 Visiting Professor and Professional Program for FILKOM Computer Science Applications course Tibyani, S.T., M.T. and all faculty AI Center Coordinators at UB. On this occasion, Prof. Yagi provides various information about Osaka University and various research that has been carried out in the Computer Vision and Media Processing laboratory which he leads. It is hoped that this activity can open up opportunities for research collaboration between Osaka University and Brawijaya University. Especially in the field of applying Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence to Life Sciences and Social Sciences.
It should be noted that the 3 in 1 Visiting Professor and Professional Program is a program initiated by Brawijaya University to increase student knowledge and competence and prepare students to compete in the future. This program is packaged in lecture activities with team-based tutors.
