Dharma Wanita UB Gives Donations for the People Affected by the Earthquake

Dharma Wanita Persatuan Universitas Brawijaya (DWP UB) gave donations for residents of South Malang who were affected by the earthquake (10/4/2021).

The DWP team, represented by four people; Endang Suyadi (head of the Socio-Cultural sector), Rosada Bambang Supriyono (Secretary), Sandra Herman (deputy secretary) and Wiwin Kuswiyani (Socio-cultural secretary), gave a donation of IDR 35 million for Ampelgading District and IDR 15 million for Sumbermanjing Wetan sub-district.

Ampelgading sub-district is an area with the worst damage. Based on information obtained from the Disaster Post of Ampelgading Earthquake, 2,037 houses were damaged, with details of minor damage 1082, medium damage 585, and heavily damaged. Meanwhile, there are 88 public facilities is reported to have damage with details of medium damage 85, and one building was heavily damaged.

The Head of DWP UB, Dr. Sri Winarsih Nuhfil Hanani hoped with the funds assistance given, it is expected to be used to repair damaged buildings such as places of worship (mosques).

“So they can conduct tarawih prayers and compulsory prayers at mosques and other necessities to ease the burden on residents affected by the earthquake,” he said. (OKY / Humas UB/ Trans. Iir).
