At the age of 22, Devi Veda Amanda, S.Stat., M.Stat successfully completed her Bachelor and Master degrees in 4.5 years, with a perfect GPA of 4.00. She became the best graduate at UB’s Graduation Period XV, Saturday (8/2/2025)
“Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful. This is the second time I have become the best graduate, because during my Bachelor’s degree I was also the best graduate in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences,” she said.
Devi participated in the Fast Track program, so she managed to complete her Bachelor’s degree in 3 years and 4 months with a GPA of 3.93, and her Master in 6 months. This achievement was achieved without having to go through a thesis exam, since Devi has published two SINTA 2 indexed journals.
“My journal is about the application of statistical methods to determine factors that influence customer credit risk behavior in banking. The two journals are in accordance with the topic of the thesis, so I got a reward for passing without a thesis exam,” she said.
Devi’s love for mathematics made her choose Statistics as her major. This girl from Malang has set her academic plan carefully. In addition, the support of her parents and the opportunity to get a scholarship are additional motivations for her to be the best.
“I got a lecturer research grant scholarship, so I didn’t pay a penny for college. And when I was in undergraduate I also received a Bank Indonesia scholarship, so it really supported my education and lightened my parents’ burden,” said Devi
While in college, Devi divided her time between organizing, committees, volunteering, and participating in national and international competitions, until she achieved 40+ awards. These include the Gold Medal World Youth Invention and Innovation Award (WYIIA), Gold Medal Indonesia International Invention Expo, Gold Medal World Science, Environmental and Engineering Competition.
